How To Style 3 Ways: Bike Shorts

When I say, “bike shorts,” I think of Princess Diana gallivanting around London in the 1990s post-divorce from Prince Charles.

This athleisure trend first became popular around the 90s because of the Jane-Fonda-aerobics-phase and fashion-culture icon Princess Diana. The shorts made a comeback back in 2018 with Kanye West’s streetwear line, Yeezy, when his then-wife Kim Kardashian West was spotted rocking them out on the town.

Bike shorts are still popular in 2022 because they look good on everybody AND they’re comfortable. It’s the same reason why yoga pants are so popular, except bike shorts are, well, shorter, so they’re ideal in warmer weather. Plus, they can be worn tons of different ways. I’ll share three unique ways that bike shorts can be styled here.

1. Bike Shorts + Sweatshirt

The famous Princess Di way of sporting bike shorts is by pairing them with an oversized sweatshirt. This is a comfy, effortless, and athletic look that also covers your behind if you want to stay a little more modest. 2. Bike Shorts + Graphic Tee
